Terms & conditions — mail-in bench service
Last updated 28 September 2026. Please read these before posting a module to us.
1. Who we are
fixmyecuuk (FixMyECU UK) is the trading name of Rytis Preiksa, a sole trader. Our business address is 16 Chester Road, Chetwynd, Newport, Shropshire, TF10 8BN, United Kingdom. It is also given in our written quote and on every invoice. Contact: 07375 917301, fixmyecuuk@gmail.com.
2. The service
We carry out bench work on vehicle electronic modules that you send to us: data transfer (cloning) between matching modules, reading and writing memory chips, chip transplant, component-level board repair, cloning and crash data reset on the control electronics of the 48V mild-hybrid and 12V battery modules we list, and, for supported non-German makes, crash data reset on airbag control modules. We do not fit modules to vehicles, and we don't repair or replace battery cells.
3. Quotes and when the contract starts
- You send us a label photo and details. We confirm whether we can do the job, the price and what to send. Prices on this website are "from" prices; the price we confirm in writing is the one you pay.
- The contract starts when we confirm your booking in writing (email or message) with the price and job reference.
- You can pay in one of two ways: after the job — we read and assess your module on the bench, do the work, then send you a secure payment link (Stripe or PayPal) and post your module(s) back as soon as the payment has been received; or up front — with the "Pay now" button on the service page (Stripe), then post your module(s) to us with your eBay/job reference or the name and email you paid with.
- If you pay up front, please check your part number matches the service page before paying. If it doesn't match, or we can't do the job after bench testing, you get a full refund of what you paid us.
4. What you must send and tell us
- For cloning: the original module and a donor with the same part number (and hardware, where we tell you so). Label them ORIGINAL and DONOR.
- Accurate information about the vehicle and fault. For immobiliser-related jobs, proof of ownership (V5C) or trade details.
- SRS jobs: the airbag control module only — never airbags, inflators, pretensioners or any pyrotechnic part. You confirm that the vehicle will be properly inspected and repaired after the accident, with restraint system parts replaced as required, before the module is fitted.
- Battery modules: send them only by a courier that accepts lithium batteries as dangerous goods, declared as a lithium-ion battery and packed as the courier requires (see how to post). Don't send damaged, swollen, leaking or overheated modules. After an accident, you confirm the vehicle will be properly checked and repaired before the module is refitted.
5. If we can't complete the job
If the module can't be read, the donor doesn't match, or the work can't be completed, we will tell you and return your module(s) by tracked post. There is no charge for work we couldn't do, and if you paid up front we refund you in full. The only exception is a bench-test or assessment fee that we agreed with you in writing before you posted (for example on damaged-board chip work); if we agreed one, we send the payment link for that fee before returning your module(s).
6. Prices, payment and postage
- The price we confirm to you in writing is the full price you pay, including return postage.
- Payment is due either up front (the "Pay now" button on the service page) or when the work is done, by the secure Stripe or PayPal link we send you — your choice. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 14 days.
- Free tracked return postage to a UK address is included in the price. Postage to us is paid by you; please use a tracked service and insure high-value units. Lithium battery modules must go by a courier that accepts them as dangerous goods (see how to post).
- We are responsible for your module(s) while they are with us and on the way back to you.
7. Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you are a consumer and booked at a distance (online, by phone, message or email), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract starts, without giving a reason.
- To cancel, tell us clearly before the 14 days end — by email, message or with the form below. We'll return your module(s). If you have paid anything, we refund it within 14 days, using the payment method you used.
- If you ask us to start work within the 14 days (most customers do, to get their car back on the road), you'll pay a proportionate amount for work already done when you cancel.
- Once the service has been fully performed at your express request, and you acknowledged at booking that you would then lose the right to cancel, the right to cancel no longer applies.
- You give that request and acknowledgement when you book, by confirming the statement in our written quote (for example by replying "I agree"), or by ticking the same statement on our quote form. We keep a record of it with your job.
- Business customers do not have this right to cancel.

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service: …………………

8. Warranty and your legal rights
We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. Our 90-day workmanship warranty applies to every job. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
9. Our responsibility for loss or damage
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
- We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your legal rights as a consumer.
- We are not responsible for faults caused by fitting, by the vehicle's wiring or other modules, by a faulty donor we did not supply, or by work done by others after return.
- Business customers: we are not liable for loss of profit, business or downtime, and our total liability for any job is limited to twice the price paid for that job, except where the law does not allow this.
10. Work we don't do
Immobiliser removal or bypass; key programming to modules posted to us; mileage alteration (clusters keep the original recorded mileage held by the module exactly as it stands); SRS crash data reset on German marques; any work we believe is intended for an unlawful purpose. We may refuse or stop a job for these reasons and return the module.
11. Your data
Module memory contains your vehicle's data. How we handle and delete it is explained in our privacy notice.
12. Uncollected items
If we can't return your module (for example, no valid address or we can't reach you), we'll keep trying to contact you and will give you written notice, as the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 requires, before disposing of it.
13. Complaints and law
Please contact us first — we'll try to put things right quickly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
