Chip Transplant & EEPROM / MCU Read-Write UK

When a module can't be cloned through its connector, the answer is often at chip level: reading an EEPROM or MCU directly, or moving the memory chip or MCU from a damaged board to a good one.

from £85Free tracked return postage to a UK address is included in the price. Pay now or when the work is done — full refund if we can’t do it.

What it is

Chip-level work covers reading and writing serial EEPROMs (24Cxx, 93Cxx, 95xxx) and supported MCUs in-circuit or off-board, and transplanting a chip (including BGA packages) from a damaged board onto a matching good board using hot-air rework. It is used when a board is too damaged to power up, or when a clone needs the original silicon.

What to send

How it works

  1. Send us a photo of the label — use the quote form or WhatsApp. We check the part number and send you a written quote: the price and what to send.
  2. Book and post — reply to the quote to book (or pay now on the service page), then post your module(s) (for a clone: your original and a donor with the same part number) as shown in How to post your module. Drop-off in Newport (TF10) by appointment.
  3. Bench read and assessment — we read and back up the original first. If the job can't be done, we tell you and send your module(s) back with no charge for the work.
  4. We do the job — and verify the result on the bench.
  5. You pay — if you haven't paid up front, we send you a secure card / PayPal payment link once the work is done (or you can use our Pay page). If the job can't be done, an up-front payment is refunded in full.
  6. Tracked return — as soon as it's paid, your module goes back by tracked post.

FAQ

Can every chip be read?

No. Some MCUs are protected and can't be read with bench tools. Send a photo of the chip markings and we'll confirm before you post.
