48V Hybrid Battery Module Cloning & Reset UK
48V mild-hybrid battery modules (and some 12V lithium batteries) have their own battery management electronics. We clone that data into a matching donor module, or clear stored crash data on the bench, for the modules listed here. Lithium battery modules must be sent by a courier that accepts them — see the postage note.

What it is
Bench work on a battery module's control electronics (the BMS): either transferring its data into a donor module with the same part number (cloning), or reading it in full, backing it up and clearing stored crash data (crash data reset). Only the modules and makes listed on this page.
Typical symptoms
- 48V / mild-hybrid system fault after a battery module replacement
- Battery module switched off or locked after an accident (crash data stored)
- Replacement module not accepted by the car
What to send
- The battery module (and, for cloning, a donor with exactly the same part number) — by a courier that accepts lithium batteries
- A clear photo of the label first, so we can confirm it's covered
- Your details, registration and job reference
How it works
- Send us a photo of the label — use the quote form or WhatsApp. We check the part number and send you a written quote: the price and what to send.
- Book and post — reply to the quote to book (or pay now on the service page), then post your module(s) (for a clone: your original and a donor with the same part number) as shown in How to post your module. Drop-off in Newport (TF10) by appointment.
- Bench read and assessment — we read and back up the original first. If the job can't be done, we tell you and send your module(s) back with no charge for the work.
- We do the job — and verify the result on the bench.
- You pay — if you haven't paid up front, we send you a secure card / PayPal payment link once the work is done (or you can use our Pay page). If the job can't be done, an up-front payment is refunded in full.
- Tracked return — as soon as it's paid, your module goes back by tracked post.
Not included
- Repairing, replacing or testing the battery cells
- Damaged, swollen, leaking or overheated battery modules — please don't send them
- Fitting, coding or high-voltage safety work in the car
Makes covered
Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volvo — only the part numbers listed. Always confirm by label photo.
FAQ
Can I post a lithium battery module with Royal Mail?
No. A lithium-ion battery module sent on its own is dangerous goods (UN 3480, Class 9). Use a courier service that accepts lithium batteries under the road dangerous-goods rules (ADR), tell them what it is, and pack it as they require.
Is this an airbag (SRS) crash reset?
No. This is the crash data stored in the battery module's own control electronics. Our airbag module service is separate, and we don't do airbag crash data reset on German marques.
